Nova Scotia Energy & Mines Innovation Grant
Helping master’s students research areas of importance to Nova Scotia’s Energy and Mining sector.
Each year up to 4 grants valued at $15,000 are awarded to master’s students pursuing an academic research program directly related to the development of Nova Scotia’s oil and gas industry, renewable energy resources, sustainable technologies, energy efficiency or earth sciences.
Who can apply
Grants are awarded to students beginning master’s-level studies in earth sciences, environmental sciences, business, or engineering at a Nova Scotia university.
Students must:
- have formal acceptance to graduate studies
- be in good academic standing in undergraduate program
- have approval by an academic supervisor to undertake a research project
- be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant and a permanent resident of Nova Scotia
You’ll be required to submit an outline of how your research meets the criteria and clearly define the outcome’s potential economic impact. You’ll also need to demonstrate a variety of interests through community involvement, such as volunteer work, sports, arts and/or other activities.
