Competitiveness Assessment Workshop
FREE!
The Nova Scotia Department of Energy and Mines invites you to a ½ day Workshop on assessing your company’s competitiveness in a transitioning Energy Market. The primary focus of the workshop will be a presentation by DAI, a global expert in local content, supplier development and competitive analysis. The presentation will provide key findings from a pilot project, recently commissioned by the department and completed by DAI, on the strengths and gaps of the local supply and service sector of our energy and technology industries. In this period of transition, companies must be aware of the capacity and capabilities they can promote to either new markets or new sectors in order to remain relevant and competitive. The objective is to provide information and lay out the benefits for companies to take part in a second phase Capacity Assessment project. This will help the department of Energy and Mines to work with its’ partners to create programs and projects to help companies reach their goals to increase capacity in relation to understanding market opportunities, both local and export.
DAI’s Sustainable Business Group helps unlock the commercial potential in markets by advising companies on how to optimize their local supply base and labor force, comply with local content requirements, demonstrate their long-term commitment to the country’s development, and become a trusted partner for government. The group’s experts use rigorous data analytics coupled with on-the-ground research and knowledge to assess and implement local content programs in industries including oil and gas, metals and mining, capital projects and infrastructure, renewable energy, retail, food and beverage and financial services.
This workshop will be facilitated by Jeanne Ellis, a Director at DAI with 18 years of experience designing, managing and implementing programs for international donors and oil & gas and mining companies. She currently manages a portfolio of projects in local content and corporate social investment, and recently served as Team Leader for the Post Assessment Survey of the Competitiveness Assessment Pilot project for NSDEM and OERA. Her countries of experience include Australia, Bangladesh, Ecuador, Ghana, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Kenya, Mozambique, Papua New Guinea, Peru, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.
The Event will take place Tuesday, March 10 from 8:00 am -12:30 pm at the DoubleTree.
