To protect our environment and meet the legislated goals in the Environmental Goals and Climate Change Reduction Act (PDF), Nova Scotia is getting off coal-based electricity by 2030 and switching to renewables and cleaner fuels. By 2050, Nova Scotia will reach net zero. Actions to reach the goals are outlined in Nova Scotia's Climate Change Plan for Clean Growth (PDF) and in the Clean Power Plan (PDF).
