Oil and Gas Infrastructure
Nova Scotia has the infrastructure in place to safely transport energy from the source of extraction to refining, and through to markets in Canada and the US.
That infrastructure includes
- production platforms (both Sable and Deep Panuke have production platforms)
- offshore raw and sales gas pipelines
- onshore and offshore gas plants
- fractionation plant
Modes of fossil fuel transportation that are currently available include
- pipeline (Maritimes and Northeast Pipeline and Heritage Gas)
- rail (natural gas liquid)
- truck (compressed natural gas)
- marine (condensate, refined petroleum products and crudes)
